WEB DESK: Hamdard University student Abdul Basit’s Parents claimed that ‘their son cannot commit suicide’ on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.
Earlier reports surfaced that Abdul Basit, a final year student of Hamdard University’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, committed suicide by setting himself on fire for not allowing him to enter into the examination hall.
He was taken to the near by hospital where he succumbed to death by burns injuries.
His mother urged the authorities to take action against the culprits. She alleges that bribe money has been taken from them. ‘My son was a wise son, he cannot commit suicide,” she kept on repeating.
The deceased’s brother also echoed the claims as he claimed that ‘his brother didn’t show any depression signs when he was with him the night before his death.’
The university management hasn’t responded to the claims yet.
However, there are no CCTV cameras in the institute, according to the report.
