WEB DESK: Bollywood starlet Sonam Kapoor, who has won over the audience with her performance in her latest release Neerja, is now set to star in a chick-flick directed by Khoobsurat director, Shashanka Ghosh. Tentatively titled Veerey Di Shaadi, the film is an official Indian adaptation of the Hollywood drama, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.
The story revolves around four girls who go on a crazy trip to find true love.
“It’s a journey about four girls going on a crazy trip and finding love,” a source close to the development said, according to Mumbai Mirror.
Reportedly, Swara Bhaskar, who last shared screen space with Sonam Kapoor in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, has been approached for one of the four characters in the film and the actress instantly agreed.
Sonam had earlier desrcibed Bhaskar as her “new friend and confidante”: “She and I have been shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo together and recently I called her in the middle of the night to discuss our dismal loves lives.”
The film will showcase the girls’ journey from Delhi to Europe, where they find true love. It is currently in the pre-production stage with the director and his team on a recce to finalise locations across the globe.
The flick will be produced by Sonam’s younger sister Rhea Kapoor.
