Yasin Malik slams use of force on protesters in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned the use of brute force on peaceful protesters by the India police in Held Srinagar.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We strongly condemn the teargas shelling on peaceful protesters of Maisuma and Kokerbazar during which many protesters including women were injured. Peaceful protests and people’s voices are being suppressed by police force which speaks volumes of oppression unleashed by India in Kashmir,” KMS reported.

Yasin Malik prayed for the speedy recovery of injured.

Protestors mostly women were protesting against implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) at Amira kadal and Maisuma areas of Srinagar.

A large number of people mostly women from Koker Bazaar locality assembled at Amira Kadal bridge and blocked the road.

Meanwhile, JKLF held Quran Khawani at its headquarters in Srinagar in connection with the martyrdom anniversary of martyr Advocate Jalil Andrabi.

JKLF leaders, activists and admirers of martyrs in large numbers participated.
