WEB DESK: Defending champion Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by Six wickets in their first Super 10 Stage match of the World Cup Twenty20 at Kolkata on Thursday.

Tillakaratne Dilshan, Proved himself main difference between both teams, played brilliant cricket and completely out-class immature bowling line-up of Afghanistan. He scored 83 runs notout innings.

Dilshan came into this tournament under great pressure because of his recent performance in Asia Cup.

Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. While batting at first Afghanistan lost their first wicket at the score of 12.

Then, Asghar Stanikzai and Samiullah Shenwari played well, played shots in all directions. Asghar Stanikzai scored his first T20 World Cup fifty by scoring 62 runs off 43 balls while Samiullah Shenwari scored 31 runs.
