World T20: New Zealand beat Austrailia by 8 runs


WEB DESK: New Zealand beat Australia by eight runs in their second Super 10 Stage match of the World Cup Twenty20 at Dharamsala on Friday.

New Zealand are at top of the group now and on the brink of making it to the semis.

New Zealand restricted Australia team to 134 runs. All the Australian players failed to perform except Usman Khuwaja who scored 38 runs off 27 balls in their opening match of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.

Moreover, Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand with 3/17. Mitchell Mcclenaghan awarded as the man of the match for his match-winning bowling performance.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and selected to bat first. Skipper Kane Williamson proved his decision right while Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson scored 61 runs together as a opening stand.
