Ulema extend support to Women Protection Bill ’15


LAHORE: The Punjab government has given a detailed briefing about the Women Protection Bill 2015 to Ulema belonging to difference schools of thoughts in Lahore.

At the briefing Senior Member of Monitoring Committee Unit Salman Sufi enlightened the Ulema about the various clauses of the bill and dispelled the wrong impressions about it.

The Ulema assured to extend support to the government about the bill.

The Ulema said that the Women Protection Bill was not repugnant to Islam and offered to present their suggestions in this regard.

On the occasion, Chairman of Pakistan Ullema Council Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said that some elements were propagating against the women protection bill for political purposes.
