Special court slams cutting off Musharaf’s name from ECL

KARACHI: Special court slams the government’s decision to strike Musharraf’s name off the Exit Control List (ECL) on Thursday, Aaj News reported.

The special court hearing presided by Mazhar Alam. The court ordered interior ministry secretary to produce a statement.

The court has also demanded Musharaf’s close aid Rashid Qureshi to present his statement.

“The government has decided to allow Musharraf to travel abroad for medical treatment. He [Musharraf] has also committed that he will face all cases against him in court,” the interior minister announced on Thursday at a news conference.

Chaudhry Nisar said the government was removing the retired general’s name from ECL under the directives of the Supreme Court in March.
