WEB DESK: Singer Shafqat Amanat Ali apologizes for the technical glitches during his performance at Pakistan India match opening ceremony in Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata  through social media on Saturday.

Ali was performing flawlessly when he got confused at the last line of the anthem which broke the sync between the artist and the sound system causing uproar among Pakistani cricket fans.

“I see that many of you, my friends & countrymen, who I hold in the greatest possible regard, believe that I owe you all an apology.

“If I had, neither of the people who walked up to me that day would have said that they “loved” the performance,” posted Ali on his official page.

He had been awarded with the Civil Award of Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan in 2007.
