SC directs federal, Sindh govts to resolve Rangers’ powers issue

KARACHI: A larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard Karachi law and order implantation case at Supreme Court Karachi registry today.

The larger bench comprises Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Shaikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.

During the hearing, the larger bench ordered Federal and Sindh governments to review the issue of powers of Sindh Rangers and resolve it in the larger interest of the peace of the city.

The court expressing dissatisfaction over a report submitted by Sindh police regarding progress made in detecting cases of target killings ordered to file fresh report on next hearing on Thursday.
