LAHORE: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif here Saturday.
Matters of mutual interest and promotion of religious harmony were discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said there was no room for extremism and terrorism in the country. He said promotion of tolerance in the society was the mission of the government and solid measures had been taken in this regard.
“Terrorists are not only enemies of Pakistan but the entire world and there is complete unity among people for the elimination of the scourge of terrorism and significant achievements have been made in the operation Zarb-e-Azb,” he added.
He said that role of all segments of the society was of vital importance in the war against terrorism and was need of the hour to promote harmony, tolerance and brotherhood for establishing peaceful society.
Shehbaz said promotion of education was essential for curbing the trends of extremism and topics of tolerance and brotherhood have been introduced in the syllabus of educational institutions.
