While talking to media after practice at Ghaddafi Stadium, Lahore, he said, “We as a team welcome green signal from the Pakistan government to play the world cup in India this month.”
He said in 1999, we faced the same situation. It was not a new thing between Pakistan and India.
Waqar said all the players were highly motivated. Their morale was very much high and they were going with the positive mind set.
“Remember, when we hear the word playing in india or playing against india, the morale and confident boosts up automatically,” said Waqar.
While discussing the team performance, the Pakistan coach admitted that they had problems with the top-order. “We might shuffle the top-order. If team situation required then maybe we promote skipper Shahid Afridi on top order.”
“As compare to 2011 and 2015 world cup performances, Pakistan team performance was very much better in 2011 because we always play good on Asian pitches as compare to bouncy tracks.”
He said Pakistan team would not let down the nation in ICC Twenty20 World Cup after painful defeat in Asia Cup T20.
