Pervez Musharraf summoned in court on March 31


ISLAMABAD:  A special court in Islamabad has summoned former president Pervez Musharraf on March 31 for the recording of statement in treason case on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.

A three-member bench under Justice Mian Mazhar Alim heard the case. The judge issued directives to summon the accused in next hearing while former president’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry presented his medical report in the court that raged the panel.

Mian Mazhar ordered to submit the report through proper channel on which, the lawyer stated that Pakistan Bar Council has announced strike over Shabqadar court blast due to which he was not able to submit the health examination documents.

Musharraf faces the death penalty if convicted of charges over his suspension of the constitution and imposition of emergency rule in 2007.
