Over 150 D-Chowk protesters sent to jail on remand

ISLAMABAD: Local courts Thursday sent more than 150 suspects to jail on 14-day judicial remand on charges of annoyance, rioting, assaulting law enforcers and destroying government property during the recent Dharna at D Chowk, Islamabad.

The police produced the accused before the courts, who were arrested for entering the capital in a rally following Mumtaz Qadri’s Chehlum at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi on March 27. The protesters camped at the D-Chowk before clashing with law enforcers and damaging public property.
