One min silence at Bangladesh reception for victims of Lahore attack

ISLAMABAD:  One minute silence was observed at the independence and national day of Bangladesh here to express sympathy and support for the victims of Lahore terrorist attack which killed over  seventy innocent people.

The reception was hosted by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan and Madam Rawsanara Hossain to celebrate 45th anniversary of  independence of Bangladesh at a local hotel here Monday.

Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt. Gen. (Retd)  Abdul Qadir was the chief guest on the occasion.

National anthems of the two countries were played and the minister later joined the Bangladesh High Commissioner and other diplomats to cut the cake amidst clapping of the participants.

It was attended among others by diplomats from the Western and Muslim countries who were seen discussing the tragedy which befell the Punjab metropolis on Sunday.
