Oil tanker fire: death toll rises to six

MUZAFFARGARH: Death toll rose to six, when an oil tanker caught fire on Saturday at Qasba Gujrat, Muzaffargarh.

According to Rescue 1122, the oil tanker had caught fire after it overturned in a field due to alleged overspeeding near Hospital Chowk at Qasba Gujrat, in Muzaffargarh. A local fair was also in progress at the site wherein hundreds of people were present.

Resultantly, oil tanker caught fire and burst with a big bang. According to Rescue 1122, one person had died on the spot while 14 others sustained injuries.

According to hospital sources, out of the injured persons, another five persons succumbed to their injuries. The ill-fated were identified as Mehbob, Shah Ali, Fiaz, Ijaz, Muhammad Ibrahem and Muhammad Mudassar.
