“My objective and goals are loud and clear to play role that benefit and help team and achieve glory for the country.”
“It is my earnest desire and wish to play winning role for Pakistan’s ,” said 30-year-old Khalid Latif, who is making a comeback in the team after lapse of over three years.
“My frame of mind is clear and I want to score runs with blessings of Allah,” he commented.
“Despite difficulties, my mindset is positive and I will remain positive when ever opportunity comes to my way,” he remarked.
“I want to prove my potential and worth for the team and serve the country to the best of my ability,” he maintained.
He admitted that it would be a big challenge but it is part of every sport to perform under pressure.
Khalid Latif, who had represented Pakistan in seven Twenty20 Internationals was recalled in the team after consistent showing in Pakistan Super League held in Dubai and Sharjah last month.
He scored 206 runs in seven innings with strike rate of 119 while representing winners Islamabad United in PSL.
“Consistent performance earned me a place in the national team and I am keen to carry my PSL form in World T20,” he remarked.
He negated the impressions that Pakistan team’s poor Performances have any impact on him.
“For us Asia Cup is history and now as part of the team start afresh to perform well in World T20,” he said.
“It is huge event for me and I with consistent batting want to seize a permanent place in the national team,” he added.
Khalid Latif was part of Pakistan’s T20 team in West Indies in 2010 when Mike Hussey freak knock out them out in the semifinal in St.Lucia.
He said during the limited opportunity in Pakistan team, he got, he was unable to play to his best. But this ICC World T20 would bring good results for the team and for him, he concluded.
