Indian films should not be banned in Pakistan: Khalid Ahmed

WEB DESK: Veteran Pakistan actor-director and Indian film director Imtiaz Ali’s uncle Khalid Ahmed has emphasized on the need to stop banning films including Indian ones in Pakistan, Indian Express reported.

Speaking at a cultural event  held close to Wagah Border, Khalid said, “I don’t believe in bans at all. I feel all films including Indian ones should be released in Pakistan. As an artist, I don’t support bans.”

Khalid was in India on Wednesday to promote his Pakistani short film Laloolal.com. The filmmaker emphasised on the need to continue sports and cultural exchange on a regular basis.

“I feel such initiatives will have a far effect in bringing peace between both countries,” said Khalid.

Talking about his nephew Imtiaz Ali, Khalid reminiscised that he had a big influence on Imtiaz turning into a filmmaker.

He also picked Love Aaj Kal as his personal favourite from Imtiaz Ali’s films.

“That is one movie of Imtiaz which I can watch over and over again.”
