Five-member committee to examine team’s poor performance in Asia Cup


WEB DESK: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a five member inquiry committee to examine Pakistan’s performance during Asia Cup 2016, Aaj News reported

Cricketer Mishbah Ul Haq, Younis Khan, Iqbal Qasim, Chairman Shakeel Sheikh and Head Chief Operation officer Subhan Ahmed have been given the responsibility. Pakistan’s performance lacked consistency and Batting line up failed to put up big scores during the tournament. Pakistan barely won against UAE .

The committee will assess on the causes of the poor performance against India and Bangladesh. It will provided with the players responsible and report it to the board. Upon the briefing, the board will take any necessary actions.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan has slammed the team´s performance at the Asia Cup but admitted it was too late to make sweeping changes ahead of the World Twenty20 this month, Reuters states.
