DC asks parents to play proactive role for anti-polio drive

THATTA: Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Tahir Hussain Sangi, has asked citizens particularly the parents and teachers to play proactive role for the success of ongoing polio eradication campaign.

He said ensuring anti-polio vaccine to children up to five years of age would help save future generation besides preventing them from the crippling disease.

According to a hand out issued by Sindh Information Department here on Tuesday, the DC conducted surprise visits of Gharo, Gajo and other areas of the district to monitor ongoing three-day polio eradication campaign and inspected immunization process being carried out at different hospitals and health centers.

The District Health Officer (DHO) Thatta, Abdul Fatah Mahar and other relevant officers also accompanied him.

The DC was briefed by health officials regarding polio campaign.

On the occasion, the DC directed officials of health department to make the ongoing immunization drive successful. He also called for strict monitoring of the campaign so that every child could avail the polio drops without any difficulty.

Every one has to act positively to prevent our children from polio, he emphasized.
