Cricket fans protest outside Gaddafi Stadium

LAHORE: Pakistani cricket fans has staged a protest on Wednesday outside Gaddafi Stadium Lahore where fact finding committee meeting is under progress, Aaj News reported.

The protesters are demanding the replacement of Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan, senior cricket official Najam Sethi, Shakil Shaikh, team’s coach Waqar Younis and team’s captain Shahid Afridi.

“Their performance in WT20 has saddened us,” said one protester. With bangles and duppatas in their hands as an act of protest demonstration, another protester urged to bring in ‘younger talent’

The fact finding committee meeting is under progress in Gaddafi Stadium where Shahid Khan Afridi failed to appear to record his statement. It has been told that the committee will receive his statement through video message.

Earlier, upon the return of cricket team in Pakistan, cricket fans mob chanted ‘shame’ slogans outside the airport.

Yesterday, Younis and Afridi, separately, apologized for the poor team’s performance through a press conference and a video message respectively.
