Charsadda Blast: Death toll rises to 16


WEB DESK: Death toll of the Shabqadar court blast in Charsadda has increased to 16 while more than 50 lay injured, Aaj News reported.

According to the reports, the guard on duty at the main gate of the court  at the time of the blast saved various lives at the cost of his own.

The case of the suicide attack has been lodged in Mardan CTD Police station.

Source reported that several people were present at the site , when the incident occurred.

DPO Sohail Khalid claimed that the suicider  entered the court and  started firing which was followed by a blast.

As a result of the blast.Two cars in the court were destroyed and the court building was also affected. Rescue workers took control of the fire in cars immediately.

Soon after the blast, emergency was imposed in the hospitals of Peshawar and Charsadda. People present at the site rushed the victims to the nearby hospitals. Meanwhile,  the blast the site was cordoned off by the law enforcement agencies and Pak army.

According to DIG, many security officials were present in the court. Cop Shabbir displayed courage and sacrificed his life to save the court from massive destruction.

According to reports, the suicider belonged to Afghanistan and the his facilitator was from Pakistan.

DIG Mardan said that security arrangements has been tightened in and around the court.

The funeral prayers of two dead police officials, Mohammad Yamin and Shabbir Jan have been offered in Police Line.

DIG Mardan, DPO, MNA,MPA and general public  were in attendance in the funeral of the deceased police officials.

They have been laid to rest with police laurels.
