Bilawal objects to possible departure

WEB DESK: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said that allowing Pervez Musharraf to leave the country will result in deferment of several important cases, adding that the former president is also nominated in the Benazir Bhutto murder case. The PPP chairman voiced objection to Pervez Musharraf’s possible departure from the country.

Bilawal, in a statement, noted that several cases against the former president are pending in different courts. He said the former president is also nominated in the BB’s murder case and has not appeared before the court to date, while a verdict in the treason case is yet to be announced and it is said that the case is in its final stages. Bilawal contended that if Musharraf was allowed to ‘escape’ the country then important cases will be deferred.

He slammed that Musharraf’s acquittal in the Bugti murder case without questioning him was a serious violation of the law. On the other hand, the spokesman for Sindh government, Maula Bux Chandio said that it was certain that the former president will be allowed to go out of country. He said that the prime minister is getting ‘weaker’ and that things are getting out of his hand.
