WEB DESK: Australian cricket team flight to Dehli was delayed due to bomb hoax on Tuesday, according to Daily Mail sports.
Specific threats were made to five Jet Airways flights heading out of Delhi in India, which were taken extremely seriously due to the deadly blasts in Brussels that had happened just hours before.
The squad were traveling to Chandigarh to play against Pakistan in the fourth match which will decide either teams future in World T20.
Jet Airways confirmed: ‘Jet Airways has received a security alert for five flights from Delhi. All flights are on ground and are being checked by security agencies at the respective airports.
‘We regret the inconvenience caused. The safety and security of our guests and crew is always our main priority.’
Indian media later reported that although there had been a specific threat against a Jet Airways plane from Delhi to Chandigarh, it was actually an earlier flight rather than the one carrying the Aussie cricketers.
