APML postpones central council meeting due to Musharraf’s illness

ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary General on Monday announced postponement of its Central Council’s meeting due to bad health of party chief and former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to be held on 22-23 March at Karachi, he said in a statement issued here.

APML secretary General Dr Muhammad Amjad further said that the meeting schedule would be announced later.

“Health of Pervez Musharraf is not good and he can not preside over the meeting”, Dr Amjad informed.

He said that Musharraf’s backbone operation is necessary and is not possible in Pakistan. He said that Musharraf could not go out of country for treatment as his name was included in ECL (Exit Control List).

Dr Amjad demanded of the government to allow Musharraf to go abroad for medical treatment.
