Washington: America stands with Pakistan in this difficult hour and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif cancelling the US tour is understandable, said United States Foreign Minister’s spokesperson, John Kirby on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.

While briefing the media in Washington, Kirby said, terrorism is not only a problem to Pakistan but it is a world crisis. He also said that Pakistan is a constant target for the terrorists and innocent lives are lost because of the terror attacks.

As he answered one of the questions, U.S. Foreign Minister spokesperson said that America knows that Pakistan is taking the terrorism issue gravely. Kirby also said that American Consulate in Islamabad is in talks with Pakistani Government over Lahore attack.

John Kirby also said that Operation Zarb e Azab triggered the extremists attacks in Pakistan, and forces like TTP and other extremist factions are still a threat to Pakistan. Pakistan is under a lot of pressure because of Operation Zarb e Azab, he added.

While answering another question, he said that the connection between Lahore attack and Easter should be investigated by Pakistani Government.
