ISLAMABAD: The United States has assured full support in counter terrorism and infrastructure development in Pakistan.
The assurance came during a meeting between the US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale and the Secretary Defence Lt. Gen (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak in Islamabad.
The US ambassador acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the ongoing war on terror and appreciated the successful operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Pakistani side has called for diversifying the bilateral defence relations with the United States from the present confines of counter-terrorism to the realms of conventional defence.
The Secretary Defence stressed the world should recognize the role played by Pakistan and its efforts for regional peace and security.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s role in the present peace talk between Taliban and Afghan Government.
