The protester decided to bring their dead colleague’s body to the headquarters before his burial.

Hundreds of PIA employees have gathered outside the headquarter since morning to register their protest.

The protesters chanted slogans against the government and expressed fears that they would become unemployed.

A reporter on the field said that as the protesters marched towards the gate of the headquarters police water cannoned them so that they disperse.

PIA employees have shut down all offices and boycotted sales and purchase of tickets. On February 2 (today) they had decided to boycott all flight operations.

However all flights by PIA are operated per schedule.

Meanwhile, the protesters pelted stones at the police.

The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf has taken notice of the protest and PTI parliamentarian Khurram Sher Zaman has submitted a resolution against the brutal treatment vetted out against journalists during the protest.

 Television banned in Islamabad offices
On the other hand work continued undisturbed at PIA offices in Islamabad. However, an Aaj News reporter confirmed that watching television was prohibited during office hours.

The reason was cited that the death of their colleague in Karachi would stir negative emotions among employees.

The decision was taken by Advisor Aviation Shujaat Nadeem when he visited the PIA offices.
