SL slump on 129 against UAE

WEB DESK: Sri Lanka compeleted their innings on 129 for 8 against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second match of Asia Cup Twenty20 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka.

Earlier, UAE won the toss and elected to field against Sri Lanka. UAE captain Amjad Javed had said just after the toss, “We can restrict Sri Lanka to 130”.

This is the first time that both teams are playing against each other in any T20 match. It was looking difficult to stop them before 130 because Sri Lanka were 49 for none after six overs and 72 for one after 10 overs.

But Sri Lanka scored only 26 runs from 10 to 15 overs and lost two wickets. And they lost five wickets and only able to made 31 runs in last five overs.

Captain Amjad Javed took three wickets by giving only 25 runs and despite being wicket less, Ahmed Raza slow left-arm orthodox bowler only gave 14 runs in his four overs and UAE turned around the domination of first innings in their favour.
