ISLAMABAD: Emerging batsman and the first centurion from the PSL, Sharjeel Khan, has said that selection for the national side gave him great confidence and he was determined to play positive game for the country.
Talking to a news channel, he said that it was a great feeling; playing for the country has always been his dream.
“Wherever I play, be it Pakistan ‘A’ or domestic cricket, my focus is on performing well. Some of the coaches I’ve worked with always advised me to be focused on performance,” he said.
To a question he said that having played in the UAE had definitely helped him a lot.
“Apart from international matches, I have been playing a lot of cricket in the UAE for over the past five years. And most of these matches are on international venues so you could say that I’m used to these conditions because I come and play here during the off-season,” Sharjeel added.
When asked about appreciation he received from Afridi, he said: “He (Afridi) is a great player and legend.
“My focus was to become the first man to hit a century in the PSL. I am thankful to the Almighty for helping me achieve it,” he added.
