ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said due to the government measures, terrorist activities have reduced and lives of people were safe now.
He was addressing a ceremony in connection with launch of Montessori classes in the federal government schools in Islamabad.
Nawaz Sharif said security situation had improved significantly as a result of successful operation against terrorists.
He said the forward march would continue and the country would be completely rid of terrorism.
The prime minister called for bringing improvements in syllabus to ensure quality education in the schools.
He said bringing improvements in the education sector was part of the manifesto of the PML (N) government.
He said billions of rupees are being spent on the renovation and up-gradation of facilities at the federal schools. So far, 22 schools have been renovated under the education reforms program.
The PM directed the authorities concerned to ensure quality of construction in the renovated schools.
He said the laboratories and libraries should be equipped with all the facilities besides the students should have access to better sports facilities.
Nawaz Sharif said the students are the future leaders and they have to play an important role for the progress and bright future of the country.
He also directed that security arrangements should further be strengthened at the educational institutions.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif launched Montessori classes in the federal government schools in Islamabad today.
The initiative is part of Prime Minister’s Educational Reforms Programme.
On the occasion the Prime Minister was accompanied amongst others by Maryam Nawaz.
