KARACHI: Broadcast journalist Reham Khan has signed up to be an organ donor at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT).
The ex-wife of the chief of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, signed the form to this effect during a visit to the SIUT here on Sunday.
On the occasion, she also inquired about the welfare of the renowned social worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi, at the SIUT.
Later, talking to media Reham Khan said that she also signed up to be an organ donor. She was of the view that the people should sign to be organ donor to help save the lives of those who need transplantation.
Reham Khan said that patients from almost every part of the country come to SIUT for the required treatment.
She said that if one helps save the life of a patient that is tantamount to rehabilitation of the entire family and that this is a `Sadqa-i-Jaria’.
Reham Khan also paid rich tributes to Abdul Sattar Edhi who has been serving the cause of humanity.
She said that she would extend any possible support to Abdul Sattar Edhi in his mission to serve the cause of humanity.
Replying to a query, regarding the resignation of Director General of Ehtesab Commission Khyber Pakhtumkhwa, Gen (retd) Hamid Khan, she said that the top leadership of PTI had been saying that Hamid was very credible Mohtasib. It is not understandable as to why he was not considered credible Mohtasib now. This is painful and regrettable, she added.
