RAWALPINDI: Aerial drone cameras were flown to detect kite flyers in a function held at Rawalpindi Press Club on Friday.
City Police Officer CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi witnessed the performance.
Talking to mediamen, the CPO said that kite flying was banned in the city, adding that no one would be allowed to violate rule of law.
He said the police have launched a special drive against kite dealers adding that some 600 violators have been arrested so far from different parts of the city. “We have seized more than 70,000 kites and string rolls during raids while cases have also been registered against the violators.”
The National Press Club (NPC) Senior Joint Secretary Iqbal Malik, President Crime and Court Reporters Association Rawalpindi (CCRAR) Syed Sultan Shah and other members were also present on the occasion.
