Quetta Gladiators win by big margin against Islamabad

WEB DESK: Quetta Gladiators have won the match against Islamabad United by seven wickets in the 11th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium to get the number one spot in PSL points table.

Blend of Spin, medium and fast bowling helped Quetta Gladiators’ clinical efforts yield positive results to all out Islamabad United on 117 runs in 19.1 overs.

Debutant New Zealander in PSL Grant Elliot was awarded man of the match award through voting for it had become difficult situation to name the award to somebody clearly.

Quetta Gladiators skipper Sarfraz Ahmed made unbeaten 51 off 39 balls, while Ahmed Shehzad give it a good batting start for the team with 41 runs off 31 balls.


After winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators put Islamabad United to bat first and they lost their first wicket on 27 runs and the second was thrown on 55 runs. The last 8 wickets were able to manage 62 runs only. It was the captain, Shane Watson who made 40 runs in 28 balls.

Playing his first match, Aizaz Cheema took 2 for 14 and  Grant Elliot took 3 for 25 in his first match after joining PSL.

Not only they scored the lowest but this is the first time that a team is all out in first innings of PSL before 20 overs.
