Quetta blast kills 9, injures 25

QUETTA: A blast at Adalat Road killed nine and injured over 25 people, Aaj News reported. The dead include six FC men.

It is feared that the death toll will rise.

The blast occurred as an FC convoy passed the road.

DIG Police confirmed that its is a suicide attack. Police said 20 kg of explosives were used in the blast.

Body parts of a suicide bomber have been found at the blast site.

Rescue services reached the spot, and injured have been shifted to a Civil Hospital and CMS Hospital.

Security officers have cordoned of the area.

The area is at the heart of the city with the press club and CM House, near by.

An injured FC official at the hospital said, “I heard a huge blast. Others in the truck fired. I didn’t know what happened. I was thrown out of the truck.”

Quetta has been at the receiving end of terrorist attacks. Last month a suicide bomb blast at an anti-polio centre killed 14.
