PM, CoAS discuss role of certain hostile intelligence agencies

WEB DESK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif were briefed on security challenges at the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters here on Thursday.

Military spokesman Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa tweeted that a security meeting held at the ISI headquarters, reviewed internal and external threat spectrum, including terrorists’ networks and their links.

The spokesman further said that the role of hostile intelligence agencies, their collaborators in fomenting instability as well as management of the Pak-Afghan border and the way forward came under discussion. General Raheel underscored the need for continued efforts across the board in consolidating gains of the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and intelligence-based operations to ensure sustainable peace.
