PML-N candidate elected as Mayor of Islamabad


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League –N (PML-N)’s candidate Sheikh Ansar Aziz has been elected as first Mayor of the federal capital, Islamabad.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, Sheikh Ansar Aziz got 49 votes, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Raja Khurram Nawaz got only 26 votes.

PML-N’s nominees Chaudhry Riffat Javed, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi and Muhammad Azam Khan have also been elected as deputy mayors.
