PIA’s flight operation partially restored

WEB DESK: Eight PIA flights have reached their respective destinations after partial resumption of its operations.

Two PIA flights carrying seven hundred and twenty-five Umra pilgrims from Jeddah landed at Islamabad airport. Two other flights have left for Jeddah and Dubai.

A PIA plane carried passengers from Islamabad to Gilgit, while another airlifted people from Gilgit to Islamabad. Another flight reached Lahore from Islamabad.

In a statement, PIA spokesman Daniyal Gilani appreciated the commitment of the staff returning to the duty, and assured to provide them full security. He said the PIA flights will increase gradually.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said the PIA employees who preferred national interest to politics are worthy to be proud of.

In a statement, he congratulated the PIA workers who realized the problems being faced by passengers, and rejoined their duties.

He said the government will rebuild the institutions in collaboration with such patriotic citizens.

He urged people who go for strike and create chaos to feel the pain being felt by people.
