WEB DESK: Peshawar Zalmi has set a target of 146 for Islamabad United in the third match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Dubai Cricket Stadium.
This is the the first time in all the three matches of PSL yet that a captain chose to bat first after winning the toss.
In both previous matches, the team who won the toss decided to bowl first and they won it too on both the occasions.
The quick start of Peshawar Zalmi was given a setback by Shane Watson’s wicket of Muhammad Hafeez in the second over, courtesy brilliant catch by England and Kent wicket-keeper Sam Billings.
The score was only 34/2 after the powerplay and they were on 58/3 after 10 overs.
Peshawar Zalmi were looking for some good overs and momentum but Andre Russel and Shane Watson bowled economical overs and Zalmi’s scored 96/4 after 15 overs.
But in last 5 overs they made 49 runs and end up their innings on 145/7
Tamim Iqbal played an anchor innings and made 51 runs with the strike rate of 100.
Andre Russel took 3 for 31 and restricts Peshawar Zalmi at 145.
In previous two matches, teams who chased the target won the match.
