Pakistan outclass UAE by 7 wickets


WEB DESK: Pakistan beat UAE by 7 wickets in the sixth game of Asia Cup Twenty20 tournament at Sher-e- Bangla stadium, Dhaka on Monday.

While chasing the 130 target, Pakistan team faced little trouble and lost three wickets early at the score of 17 runs only then Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal came in to anchor Pakistan with brilliant 114-run partnership.

Both the players scored superb half-centuries, Shoaib Malik scored 63 runs off 69 and Umar scored 50 runs off 78 balls.

Earlier, UAE won the toss and elected to bat first. Although, UAE lost their first three wickets only at the score of 12 but Shaiman Anwar played an extra-ordinary inning against strong bowling lineup of Pakistan and he scored 46 runs in just 42 balls.

On other hand, Mohammad Amiar again bowled a brilliant spell and grabbed 2 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs.

Shoaib Malik was awarded man of the match for his match-winning performance. While talking to presentation ceremony Malik said, “First six overs are very much crucial in this condition. We decided to just stay on pitch then gradually we built our partnership.”
