KARACHI: Executive Board of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to file a corruption reference against former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain.
Its meeting was held in Islamabad on Friday under the chairmanship of Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.
Dr Asim and other accused persons were alleged for fraudulent land allotments and illegal annexation of land, unfair natural gas distribution quotas and money laundering causing huge loss to the national exchequer.
The board also decided to authorize investigation against Dr Asim Hussain, former Managing Directors Sui Southern Azeem Iqbal Siddiqui, Zuhair Ahmed Siddiqui, Shoaib Warsi, Khalid Rehman and others. In this case, the accused were alleged for misappropriation of funds of Sui Southern and OGDCL causing losses worth ten billion rupees to national exchequer.
The executive board decided to authorize three inquiries.
