ISLAMABAD: The mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbas, is arriving Monday in the provincial metropolis on an official two-day visit.Business Recorder has learnt that Topbas will attend the inauguration of a Radio Cab Service being introduced in Punjab by Turkish Government.
It is pertinent to mention here that the radio cabs will be equipped with modern navigation and security features. The provincial government and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will also ink a MoU to increase cooperation in the transport sector an official told this scribe Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Topbas will also inaugurate a business exhibition in which Turkish investors are set to participate. Topbas will also visit selected historic places in the metropolis including the historical “Badshahi Mosque” and the “Lahore Museum”.
“The mayor had already helped the Punjab government on solid waste management and there could also be some discussion about the system that has been put in place in Lahore and other cities,” an official added.
The city District Government Lahore (CDGL) and District management have finalised comprehensive arrangements to welcome the distinguish guest and his delegation. Welcoming banners of different sizes, signboard mentioning unbreakable friendship between two brotherly countries and colourful mega billboard have been displayed at the prominent places of the city especially on the Mall road and near the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Meanwhile, Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has issued route permits to the expected newly launching Cab/Taxi service owned by Turkish Company Albayrak. The ceremony in respect of imparting route permits was organized at Green Town Bus Terminal.
Turkish Company, Albayrak Country Head Binyamin Karaca was the chief guest in the ceremony and attended by Chairman Lahore Transport Company Mehr Ishtiaq.
