London police to return Altaf Hussain’s passport

WEB DESK: London Metropolitan Police have returned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain’s passport on Wednesday, Aaj News reported.

Altaf’s passport was confisticated by authorities during their investigation of a money laundering case in which the MQM’s party leader was a suspect.

After bail conditions on him had been removed as there was insufficient evidence to bring a criminal charge against him, he was also returned his passport.

MQM leaders are jubliant over the latest development. “Scotland Yard has proven that Altaf Bhai is innocent,” said MQM leader Amin ul Haq.

A money laundering case was registered under the MQM chief when the Scotland Yard began investigating the murder of Imran Farooq, one of the founding members of the party.

The MQM has been in self-exile in London since 1992. He has controlled MQM operations in Karachi sitting in the United Kingdom for nearly 24 years now.
