Nation observes Kashmir Day with renewed commitment


WEB DESK: Pakistani nation and Kashmiris across the world manifested solidarity with their brethren in occupied Kashmir today by renewing the pledge to continue supporting their inalienable right to self-determination.

The day was dawned with special prayers at mosques for the freedom of Kashmiri people and their emancipation from Indian subjugation.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif  said in his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, being observed throughout the world on (February 5), “Pakistan is committed to a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute based on UN resolutions. Pakistan reminds the international community of its responsibilities in the matter and urges it to fulfill its promise made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir 68 years ago.”

The Prime Minister said that peace in the region would remain elusive until the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

President Mamnoon Hussain also expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people, said that the government and the people of Pakistan solemnly reaffirmed their unflinching and continued moral, diplomatic and political support to the heroic struggle of the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “We, along with the free people across the globe, salute the brave, valiant and courageous men, women and youth of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir who laid their lives for the sacred cause of freedom in the last 68 years,” the President said in his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, being observed on February 5, throughout the world.

PM Nawaz Sharif in AJK to show solidarity with Kashmiri people

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif reached Azad Jammu Kashmir to show solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir as people of Pakistan observe annual Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhry Barjees Tahir, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr. Asif Kirmani. During his visit, the Prime Minister will address the joint session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council and AJK Legislative Assembly.
