Karan Johar spends a whooping 1.5 crore on Rishi Kapoor’s makeup

WEB DESK: Famous Bollywood producer Karan Johar has spent a whopping Rs 1.5 crore to get one of Hollywood’s best known make-up artistes Greg Cannom to do Rishi Kapoor’s make-up for his upcoming film Kapoor & Sons, DNA India reported.

Rishi acknowledges this and chuckles, adding, “It takes a producer with guts and vision to spend so much money on one actor’s make-up. And mind you, Kapoor & Sons is not a mammoth Dharma Production like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.”

Kapoor and sons is directed by Shakun Bantra.

Cannom is behind Brad Pitt’s old man’s look in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and Robin Williams’ old lady disguise in Mrs Doubtfire.

“I already play an old man in another film. When Shakun and Karan approached me with this role, I asked them how one could be separated from the other. That’s when they offered to bring Cannom into the picture,” Rishi says.

He says it was both a challenge and a pleasure to play a 90-year-old man. “Everybody said this is how you’ll look when you get to be 90. The transformation was amazing. I couldn’t recognise myself.”

Scheduled to release in March 2016, Kapoor and Sons also stars Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan.
