Govt striving to improve PIA’s structure: Abid Sher

FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Chauddhary Abid Sher Ali on Saturday said the government was striving hard to improve structure of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and for this purpose all available resources would be utilized on priority basis.

Talking to the media after inaugurating cricket tournament at Bohranwali ground here, he said the PIA was put into heavy deficit by reinstating sacked employees and paying them heavy amounts under the garb of their arrears.

He expressed condolence over the demise of PIA employees  and said the government was committed to improve the PIA.

“The PML-N leadership gave full chance to the PTI’s chief and now it is his (Imran Khan) duty to bring about reforms and make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa better than other provinces,” the minister added.

Abid Sher Ali said the PTI had been protesting against the government for the last 2.5 years but the PML-N government was successfully continuing its development programmes and:” We will not allow anyone to waste precious public wealth which is collected from people through taxes.”
