ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said armed forces rendered great sacrifices in war against terror as a result security situation has improved.
“Entire nation stands by armed forces to rid the country of the scourge of militancy and terrorism,” he said while talking to the cadets of armed forces in Islamabad.
He was confident that the country would soon overcome terrorism due to the resilience and capability demonstrated by the armed forces.
Mamnoon Hussain said the menace of corruption had badly affected the country and it was our collective responsibility to wage a campaign against it.
He urged the cadets to focus on their training process to become better leaders in their respective fields.
Talking to Queen Maxima of Netherlands in Islamabad, the president said government had put the economy on the right track through prudent policies.
He said welfare of masses was the cornerstone of government’s development policy.
Queen Maxima said cooperation with Pakistan would continue for improving the economic situation of common man.
Meanwhile, Queen of Netherlands Maxima also visited National Telecommunication Corporation headquarters in Islamabad today.
Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman briefed her about the progresses made by the country in the telecom and IT sectors.
The Queen also visited NADRA headquarters, where she was briefed by Chairman NADRA on the services being provided by the organization.
