Court grants physical remand of blackmailing student on social site

ISLAMABAD: A lower court of Islamabad on Tuesday granted five days physical remand of an accused to FIA for allegedly blackmailing a girl student on social media.

Senior Civil Judge Abdul Ghafor Kakar heard the case against accused Aamir Shams.

The official of Cyber Crime Circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprised the court that the accused was blackmailing a student girl through a fake Facebook account by uploading her pictures there.

The accused had also hacked the Facebook account of the girl and stole her pictures, the official added.

He informed the court that the accused was held on February 11 and FIA had recovered pictures of victim girl from his mobile phone.

The FIA officials appealed the court to grant a seven days of physical remand of the accused.

However, the counsel for the accused contradicted the stance of the FIA and argued that the FIA had recovered everything from his client and had completed the interrogation.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted five days physical remand of accused Aamir Shamas.
