AJK PM condemns detention of senior Hurriyat leaders in IOK


MIRPUR: AJK Prime Minister Ch. Abdul Majeed has strongly condemned the recent arrests of various Kashmiri freedom fighter leaders including senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmed Shah by the Delhi’s installed puppet government of Indian held Kashmir.

Addressing various delegations representing diverse segments of the local civil society in Muzaffarabad on Friday, AJK Prime Minister called upon the international community to use its due influence and global obligations to get abandoned the detention of the Hurriyat leaders besides the Indian region of state terrorism and oppression in the occupied valley.

He underlined that over eight lakh Indian occupational military and para-military forces were directly involved in the massive human rights abuses in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Such ugly state of affairs and reign of state terrorism and violence is a question mark for the international human rights organization besides United Nations.

Ch. Majeed also urged upon the international community to perform their due role to ensure the early grant of right to self determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir under the UN resolutions which India was denying through delaying tactics since over last 69 years, he added.

He vowed to turn AJK the base camp of the Kashmir freedom movement in true perspective. Referring to the priorities of his government for the speedy progress and prosperity of AJK, the AJK Prime Minister said that his government was taking all necessary measures for completion of the annual public sector development programme to this direction.
