AC admits NAB reference against Asim for hearing


The Accountability Court on Thursday admitted for hearing a corruption reference filed by National Accountability Bureau against the former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain. The NAB reference contained a 40-page investigation report along with numerous evidences against Dr Asim, charging him with a Rs 462 billion corruption.

The NAB framed charges of money laundering, unjustified distribution of gas quota, kick-backs, land grabbing and misuse of authority against the former petroleum minister, who is a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari. Five more people, including Abdul Hameed, Athar Hussain and Masood Haider Jafri, are facing similar charges in the reference.
