WEB DESK: Lollywood actor Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khan visited Bacha Khan University in Charsadda district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) hours after it reopened after a brutal terrorist rampage on Monday.
According to reports, Malik reached BKU to take part in a Quran Khawani and peace walk being held for the 22 martyrs of Wednesday’s brazen attack at the educational institution.While talking to the media, Veena said that she was there to show solidarity with the martyrs and to let the victims’ families know that she and her family was there for them.
She said: “The terrorists attacked our most precious asset, our youth and the best way to avenge that is to ensure that our youth gets education.”
The actor added: “We feel the pain of those who have lost their loved ones and are here to show solidarity with them. No one can make up for their loss but I brought my own child with me to show my support. We are one when celebrating our joys and now two in these tragic times we stand united.”
Upon returning to Pakistan this month, Veena told the media about her plans to participate in human rights campaigns and other goodwill social activities. The actor said she had planned a visit to Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS), and also produce a song for APS victims.
